Good luck to all the area schools playing this weekend.

Please,
Someone help me out! I thought I knew the playoff system, but now I'm more confused then ever. I believe there was 22 at large bids for the football playoffs. I thought they took those 22 teams and divided the teams by 4 (for each class)Then each class would get: Class A=6 teams, B=6 teams, C=5 teams, & D 5 teams. Then for example, with Class A's 6 teams, Division 1 "could" get 5, Division 2 would get 1 team, it all depended on your points.(Not divided equally by divisions) So how did Division 8 get 7, 5-4 teams?

Since Division 8 is some C schools and all the D schools, it just happened that 2 of the 5 C schools were at the lower end of Class C. Those 2 plus the 5 from class D is why that happened

Thanks, That makes sense!

I know it's location, location, location, but isn't it ironic that Saugatuck (9-0), Muskegon CC (8-1),
& Mendon (9-0) are all in the same District, and Merrill (5-4) plays at M.P. Scared Heart (5-4). I've always said, for smaller community schools (besides a great football team) you need a little luck with the pairings and who's up & down! Even with a few issues, it's a pretty good system and great time of the year!

What Bad Axe not in the playoffs again, when was the last time they were in. Another great coaching job

Anonymous said...

2001, they have won a total of 13 games from that point forward.

Anonymous said...

Dear anonymous number 1 give this coach a couple years, he has already shown much improvement and there is a bright future ahead for the hatchets, it will take a couple years but it will turn around

Anonymous said...

that's what Bad Axe said last time...but don't worry, there will be another coach soon.

You can take the Laker coaches. They did a real stellar job this year too. They did beat three teams that had a combined total of four wins. Oh yeah they also broke Imlay City's 31 game losing streak by getting pumbled 38-68. So sad Lakers can have awesome JV teams year in & year out but can't put together a winning season at Varsity level.

Hmmm

Let's keep blaming the coaches. It is always the coach's fault. That new coach in BA has won everywhere he has been. As far as Laker goes, just because you win at the JV level, doesn't mean that the same kids win at the Varsity level.

Anonymous said...

Ummmm....Let's see...Oh you must be right. A JV team that goes 9-0 must have lost focus & talent when they got to Varsity. A 3 win season is good enough for them.

Are you blaming the players then, if not the coach? Its the coaches job to get the team ready to play. Did he prepare them to win. You cannot tell me all the other thumb teams are that much better. I don't see any division 1 players coming out of the thumb and very few division 2 players. The coach job is to get the team ready to play, and they sure were not ready to play. Next year maybe 2 wins

Ok coach at Bad Axe give it 2 years they will be in playoffs. Look what he did at north huron he turned them around when he coached there one year played kingston in first round of playoffs and beat them went to deckerville and lost but i doubt north huron has made it that far in football playoffs. Then lakers a few years ago he also turned them around and made playoffs with them and did really well. in division 5 playoffs. then before when bad axe was good i wonder who the coach was i think it might be the coach thats there now hmm obviously knows how to coach. but we will see what do i know.

so how do you blame for all of bad axe losses the coach or players don't talk about 2 years from now. Who is the blame for this year
