Hey everyone. In my column today...
http://www.michigansthumb.com/articles/2012/03/15/sports/sports_columns/doc4f61e457e8392134587942.txt
...I ramble on and on about how the opening two days of March Madness are the greatest two sports days of the year. Although I am pretty sure of this, I am also sure that others may have a differing opinion on the matter.
So with that said, I'd like to know what YOU think is the greatest sports day(s) of the year? It could be the Superbowl, Sunday at the Masters, MLB opening day, etc. Let us know what you think, and if you'd like, let us know why. Thanks.
Seth

What makes it the greatest sports day is the fact that it's not one game. It's an event. I like all of the others, but I love the first two days of the tournament - there's nothing like it. Like you said in your column, even the women in the office, who don't follow basketball are into the tournament.
I will say baseball's opening day is pretty special. It's the one day that every team thinks it has a chance, but it's only the beginning of a 162 game season.
Also, Sunday at the Masters is as good as it gets in golf.

I don't trust people who don't like March Madness. Even my brother-in-law whose favorite things include snuggies, footprints in the sand, and matching sweater vests - LOVES March Madness!!!
I know what you mean - I have a family member who loves Jack Johnson, and even he loves the NCAA tournament. It really is for everyone!
I don't know why, but it is the best, March madness, high school and collage.

Yeah but what is your take on tandem bikes? Do people that own tandem bikes also have the capability to like March Madness?
Seems like to me that you have an infactuation with weird, not-straight things and are pushing those things onto others. You need to just chill.
Don't mind the banter at all, but KEEP IT CLEAN!
People always pick against Izzo, but he will turn them into a believer. Go Spartans!

I'm a believer, I have MSU in the Final 4 and see no reason why the Spartans can't win the title.
The NCAA tourney and Super Bowl attract more casual fans than any other event. the main reason is $$, with limited knowledge one can fill out a bracket and hope to win money and with no knowledge of football, get a square on a board and give you a score to root for in the super bowl.
It isn't really a sport, but it is on ESPN, and for some unknown reason I must watch Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest on July 4th.
MLB Opening Day. Especially excited this year to see that awesome Tigers lineup!
