Due to the holiday, it's a slow week for area high school sports.
The one big event this week takes place Wednesday night at Marlette.
The school's gym will be renamed in honor of Terry Reid, a longtime Red Raider coach and an all-around great guy. The scoreboards also will be dedicated in honor of Reid's grandson, Kyle Hall, a standout Marlette athlete who was killed in a car accident earlier this year.
Though Marlette is out of the Tribune's coverage area, we do plan on attending the ceremonies and we will have a report on the festivities in the paper
