Good luck to Ubly and Deckerville!
ReplyDeleteHeading into the playoffs, I'd say Nouvel beats Ubly by 1-2 touchdowns. But after their narrow win against a injury depleted Reese squad (down to their 4th or 5th string QB, who was a freshman), I'll take Ubly by a touchdown. I know I shouldnt base my prediction on one game, but I just cant get over the fact that they couldnt pull away from the Rockets (give credit to Reese).
Either way, it should be a great game and I hope the Thumb comes out on top!
Ubly seems to be able to post its will on their opponents just like previous teams. With a squad short on experience and without an established dominant player they again handled most everyone with ease. The Sandusky game provided to be a valuable lesson and they got better with each game thereafter. I pick Ubly because they do few things and they do those few things very well. Ubly 35 Nouvel 21

ReplyDeleteGTW weak? LOL someone is jealous!!
ReplyDeletehow about it sparty whats the score
ReplyDelete34-21 Ubly WINS!!!!
ReplyDeletethanks and go Cats
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB EAGLES!!!
ReplyDeleteBCAS was one of better teams in the west and lost to the NCTL champs.... The west must really be that bad!
ReplyDeleteEAGLES#1!! LOL
ReplyDeletei'm a deckerville alum and don't consider this team an nctl team. their best players played in the gtc east last year and havn't forgotten. they just needed a wakeup call with marlette and ubly.
ReplyDeleteDeckerville is basically a GTE team. This current group of kids grew up playing tough GTE competition, which will benefit them greatly in the NCTL. The Eagles should be tough for the next 2-3 years. After the younger kids have a few years playing against NCTL teams instead of GTE teams, I think you will see Deckerville drop down a notch. They will, however, benefit from only having a 5-game league schedule, allowing them to keep playing the Ubly's and Marlette's.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Bearcats... thanks to everyone for the game score posts. - Ubly's #1 AL fan
ReplyDeleteUbly's best kept secret may have been exposed. Coursesy of the Saginaw News.
ReplyDeleteVs. Nouvel...
Austin Drake, passing: Completions 5 Attempts 6 Pct 83.3% Yards 108 TDs 3 INTs 0
Who does Ubly play now?
ReplyDeletethe winner of the Merrill/Ravenna game, 1 PM Saturday
ReplyDeletethanks
ReplyDeleteAnd the winner is??? Ravenna 32 - 30
ReplyDeleteRavenna won with 0.5 seconds remaining on a pass play to the endzone. The play prior to that was knocked down in the endzone by a Merrill player who could have caught it and ended the game but instead batted it away thus leaving time for one final play.......Ubly and Ravenna play 2 PM Saturday in Ubly.
ReplyDeleteJason and I went to that game.....fantastic finish!!!
Rick, what are your thoughts on Ravenna? How do they stack up against Ubly?
ReplyDeleteshould match up very well with Ubly. They run more than they throw. They were forced to go the air when trailing 23-6.
ReplyDeleteSize....very close to Ubly. Speed favors Ubly....stopping the run favors Ubly. They have one main horse, Josh VanderWagen who carries the load on the ground. They start 5 to 6 seniors much like Ubly and depth is very much like Ubly. They have 9 seniors on the roster.
They run from the I formation, where Ubly is full house. All in all very comparable.
I think Ubly has the edge @ QB, though the Bulldogs marched down the field in 48 seconds via the pass to win. Backed into a corner...they will throw.
Home field and not having to make the 4 to 5 hour bus ride will be huge. This should be a great game.
