  11. What is up with Cass City? Is it a conditioning problem or a coaching problem or is it just their schedule?

  12. Well there was a coaching change and that has not changed their late season problems so I may have to agree that there is a conditioning problem or more so a mental toughness issue.

  13. Just a few of my thoughts.... A lot of people are calling the Deckerville loss a surprise or the upset of the year. Although I picked Deckerville I only did it because I thought they would hold on to that game at home. Marlette has a pretty good passing game and Deckerville has questionable pass D; result is a Marlette win, it really shouldnt be that big of a surprise. People seem to always get ramped up about that one NCTL team that seems "unbeatable" the issue with that is they never play any good competition. Take a mediocre GTC team and pit them against the "unbeatable" NCTL team and I will take the GTC 7 out of 10 times. Now some may argue and say well is Deckerville truly a NCTL team at this point since they just cwitched this year? I would say yes only because of the soft schedule they have played up until last night. However, I will say I think playing the 3 tough games at the end will prepare them for the playoffs and they will make a deep run. Have some of those tough games at the beginning of their schedule and I feel like then they could be as good as the GTC teams. With that said I also wouldn't be surprised if they went into Ubly with something to prove and beat the Bearcats. Do I think it will happen? No, but it also wouldnt surprise me. After all made that same statement about Marlette and they went into Deck and took care of business.

Another though on the situation at Cass City... I agreee that it sounds like a mental toughness issue. I think until recently Sandusky had a similar issue. It seemed like they would always play to the level of their competition. They would always win a game they shouldnt have and lose some they should of easily won. I'm happy to see this year it seems that isnt the case and I hope their success continues into the post season and I hope that they can figure it out in Cass City because with the number of kids they have their you can't tell me their isn't enough talent to put a winning team on the field year in and year out.

Anybody else care to bring their thoughts to the table?

  14. I guess Im not shocked CC lost, but the margin of the score is what I find hard to believe, is there anyone out there that saw the game and can comment?

  15. Great Job by coach Sweeney and all the coaches and players involved with the bearcat football program, 30 straight regular season wins by the smallest school in the GTCE. This is a great example to everyone that hard work and dedication is the only way to be successfull in what ever you do.

  16. Vassar has double the team Cass City has. They have great recievers and quickness. Alex Varney did'nt play much due to an ankle injury. That weakened CC's offense. Osentoski couldn't do it all by humself. Defense put in a tremendous effort. Alex Zaleski is one to watch.

  17. I think people may be losing major interest in this blog becuase it is never updated. A well maintained blog should have at least 1 or 2 entries a day to keep readers coming back for up to date stories and info.
